Understanding your performance
Read AI search performance through brand metrics and the answers and sources behind them. Keep the workspace, time period, and scope consistent while comparing results.
Read ranking metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Percentage of eligible AI answers that mention the brand |
| Share of voice | The brand's share of mentions across tracked brands |
| Sentiment | How the brand is evaluated and described in context |
| Average position | Average mention order in answers where the brand appears; closer to 1 means earlier |
Rankings default to highest visibility first. Select a metric to sort; unavailable sentiment or position appears as —. Zero visibility does not necessarily mean answers were not collected. Check execution results in AI answers.
Interpret fan-out queries
The product's Fan-out page shows searches the AI ran while answering. Distinct queries count unique search terms; total occurrences count how many times those searches ran.
Group by topic, prompt, or no grouping; search query text; and filter by search or shopping. Sort by query, type, or occurrences and export CSV. Inspect common brands and phrases to find comparison criteria and conditions that were not explicit in the original prompt.
Separate brand mentions from source usage
A brand can appear in an answer without its website being cited. Its page can also be cited without the brand being named in the text.
When brand metrics change, read descriptions and citations in AI answers, then inspect the source pattern through domains and URLs. Use differences between mentions and citations to guide a review of your messaging and content.
