Personas

A persona describes the person a prompt is intended for: their role, circumstances, goals, and challenges. Create personas in your workspace and assign them to relevant prompts.

For example, an HR director and a team manager may ask different questions about the same HR software. Separate personas help you identify the audience for each prompt.

Create a persona

  1. Open Brand → Personas in the sidebar.
  2. Click New persona.
  3. Enter a Name and any relevant details.
  4. Click Add.

Only the name is required.

Separate multiple job titles, industries, seniority levels, genders, or locations with commas. Leave gender blank when unspecified.

Enter each goal or challenge in its own field. Use Add item to add another field, or the item's remove button to remove it. Scroll within the form to reach additional fields.

Set an avatar

Click an avatar in the persona list or detail view to choose an icon, emoji, or uploaded image. You can also change the icon color.

The avatar appears in the list and prompt picker. Removing the custom avatar restores the default person icon based on the configured gender. An unspecified gender uses a neutral icon.

Assign personas to a prompt

  1. Open the Prompts list.
  2. In the Persona column, immediately before Branding, click Add persona. For a prompt with assigned personas, click its avatars or names.
  3. Search by persona name.
  4. Click a result to select it. A prompt can have multiple personas.

Each selection saves immediately. Selected results show a check mark. Click a selected result again to remove the assignment. This does not delete the persona.

Creating a persona does not assign it to prompts or rewrite prompt text. Choose prompts that match the intended audience. Assignments cannot be edited from this column for archived prompts or prompt suggestions.

If a change cannot be saved, the picker displays an error. Review the message before trying again.

Preview details while selecting

Hover over a result to open its detail panel alongside the picker. The panel shows available information, including the description, role, location, goals, and challenges.

Move the pointer into the panel to scroll through long content. With the keyboard, use the up and down arrows to move through results, the right arrow to enter the preview, and the left arrow to return. The expand icon opens the full detail page.

The picker footer includes these links:

  • Add persona opens the creation form.
  • Manage personas opens the persona list.
  • Learn more about personas opens this guide.

View and edit personas

Click a name in the persona list to open its details in a side panel. Click another persona to switch the panel's contents.

Click Edit, update the fields, and click Save. Use the expand icon in the panel header to open the full detail page.

Use the CLI

Open the menu beside New persona and choose CLI for setup instructions and command help. See the Persona CLI reference for command syntax and arguments.
